Final Reflection

1) The best moments from going through these assignments I would have to say were the people I got into contact with. This course forced me to go out and talk to people of ranking status for some organizations I would never have contacted without the requirement of interviews.  I took an old family friend to lunch at Mi Apa for one interview and we got into talking about his stories training doctors in Africa and we both ended up smiling and laughing a lot.  This class being an online class was pretty disappointing I would have to say. Many of the assignments seemed more like busy work and even though I did put my best effort forward on alot of the assignments, some of them just seemed too repetitive to really gain much from them.  2) The most formative experience was talking with Cindy Nelly at the beginning of the semester about her own experiences working with refugees in Turkey.  I will not only remember it for the rest of my life but I will probably keep in c...

Venture Concept 2

1)  Opportunity:  Refugees from Syria, Myanmar, Sudan, Somalia, and Venezuela have the unmet need of physical and occupational therapy services. These services would allow them to get live more independently in their new conditions. Civil Wars and economic crises are causing these kinds of displacements all around the globe. Customers now are relying on UNHCR and the WHO to provide medical aide however OT and PT is not always the highest priority. This opportunity is huge for the greater good of the human race. It is dealing with a humanitarian crisis in a world with the highest rates of displaced individuals ever. The window of opportunity will be open for as long as there are people being forced out of their country due to violence and war. Innovation:  I am not selling a product or a service, I am going to be getting funding through the IOM and the UNHCR as well as grant money from WHO and WFOT.
